A few years ago, I was reading and watching a lot of movies with a “dark academia” theme. They all revolved around universities and were very dark and moody. This hat has that vibe to me. A classic beanie with some cable ribbing.
Finished Size: About 14” circumference at brim, unstretched, and 8.5” tall.
To fit 21-23” head
Yarn: Fingering Weight yarn, 400 yards for 100 grams. That was plenty to produce a medium to large size hat. I used a 100% superwash merino yarn.The hat pattern only used about 55 grams.
Gauge: 8 stitches to 1” 13 rounds to 1” in cable rib pattern unblocked
Needles: US 0 to 2 (2.0mm to 2.75mm) Choose size needed to get gauge appropriate for your yarn.
